Hybrid Solar System

Hybrid solar systems generate power in the same way as the common Grid Tie solar system but the main difference is that they use batteries to store energy for later use. It is because of the ability to use store energy most hybrid system to operate as backup power. They used this backup energy during a blackout which is similar to a UPS System.

Traditionally the term hybrid refers to two generation sources such as solar and wind. Recently the term hybrid solar refers to a combination of battery storage and solar systems in which off-grid systems are connected to the electricity grid.

Store Solar power in a Battery

Network operators & Governments have reduced the solar feed in tariff received for feeding energy solar energy to the Grid. This means traditional grid feed solar systems have less attractive. Most people are working during the day in which they use solar energy which is generated. Therefore, solar energy is fed into the grid for very little return.

They can provide backup power during a blackout. This is perfect for home-owners in which majority is basically a business. They operate basically during the Daylight hours in which common Grid feed solar is still the most economical choice.

Solar Hybrid Advantages & Disadvantage:

Advantages :

ü  Stores solar or low-cost electricity.

ü  Allow using of solar energy during the peak times.

ü  This power available during a blackout or Grid outage like UPS function.

ü  Solar hybrid enables the advanced management of energy.

ü  enables energy independence.

ü   reduces the power consumption from the grid.

Disadvantages:

·         Cost  is higher than the grid-feed solar which mainly due to the high cost of  Batteries.

·         Installation is much more complex. It is because it requires more room & highest  install cost.

·         Battery life of Solar Hybrid is Normally 7-15Years
